Unofficial Firmware refers to any firmware not released by the device manufacturer, including custom ROMs and modified stock ROMs.

What is Unofficial Firmware?

Unofficial firmware is created by third-party developers or the Android community. It may offer features not available in official firmware.

Types of Unofficial Firmware

  • Custom ROMs: Completely new builds (LineageOS, Pixel Experience)
  • Ported ROMs: Official ROMs adapted for different devices
  • Modified Stock: Stock ROMs with added features
  • GSI (Generic System Image): Universal Android images
