Runway vs Kling AI: Price, Clip Length and Models Compared
Pick Runway if you want a full AI video workspace with a free starter allowance, clear credit pricing and access to several video models, including Kling's, in one place. Pick Kling AI if you mainly want Kling's own model at a lower monthly price, with clips up to 15 seconds in 1080p or 4K that you can extend to about 3 minutes.
Both turn text and images into video, both run in the browser and on iPhone, and both charge in credits. The main differences are price, the range of models and how long your clips can be.

Which is cheaper, Runway or Kling AI?
Kling's entry plan is cheaper. Runway is the one you can try without paying.
Runway has four plans on its pricing page. Free costs $0 and gives "125 one-time credits", a one-time deposit that does not expire, plus 5GB of storage and a selection of models. Standard is $15 a month, or $12 a month billed yearly, with 625 credits a month, no watermarks and 4K upscaling. Pro is $35 ($28 yearly) with 2,250 credits, and Max is $95 ($76 yearly) with 9,500 credits. Runway's FAQ says Standard and Pro credits do not roll over, Max lets up to one month of unused credits roll over, and extra credits you buy never expire.
Kling AI loads its web pricing with scripts we could not read, so we used its official App Store listing. There, the Standard plan is $10 a month, Pro is $37 and Premier is $92, and credit packs start at $5 for 330 credits. Web prices may differ, so check the site before you subscribe.
How much video do the credits buy?
Runway shows this plainly; Kling's credit costs per clip were not on a page we could read.
Runway's pricing page converts each plan into seconds of video. On Standard, 625 credits equal 52 seconds of Gen-4.5 or 104 seconds of the faster Gen-4 Turbo. On Pro, 2,250 credits equal 187 seconds of Gen-4.5 or 375 seconds of Gen-4 Turbo. That makes it easy to estimate your monthly output before you pay. With Kling, start with a small credit pack and see how far it goes for the kind of clips you make.
Which makes longer, sharper clips?
Kling states its limits clearly: its App Store listing says you can "generate up to 15 seconds in native 1080p or cinema-grade 4K, then use Video Extension to create videos up to 3 minutes long." Its latest model is Kling 4.0, and its site also promotes Kling Image 3.0 for native 4K images.
Runway does not list a clip length or output resolution per plan on its pricing page. It does list 4K upscaling on paid plans, with unlimited 4K video upscaling from Pro up. Its own models are Gen-4.5 and Gen-4 Turbo for video and Aleph 2.0, along with Gen-4 for images.
Can you use Kling inside Runway?
Yes. We checked Runway's pricing page on 6 November 2026, and it listed Kling 4.0 among the video models available in Runway, next to Runway's own Gen-4.5, Gen-4 Turbo and Aleph 2.0, and Seedance 2.0 Pro. The same page lists Seedance 2.5 and Nano Banana Pro images in its plan features.
So the choice is not always either/or. If you want to compare Kling's output with Runway's own models on the same project, a Runway plan lets you do that from one account and one credit balance. If you only ever use Kling's model, subscribing to Kling directly is the cheaper route.
Which is easier on a phone?
Both have iPhone apps. Runway's pricing page links to a Runway app for iPhone and a Runway app for Android. Kling's App Store app runs on iPhone and iPad, and on Macs with an Apple M1 chip or later, which Apple marks as "Not verified for macOS". We did not find an official Android listing for Kling, so Android users have the clearer path with Runway.
