About X (formerly Twitter) on PC
X, formerly Twitter, is a social network for short posts, replies, video and live news. On a computer, the official way to use it is the website at x.com.
We could not find an official X desktop app for Windows or Mac from X Corp. The App Store listing covers iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Vision Pro only. Be careful with Store apps that only use the X name.
What changed recently: X's App Store listing (seller: X Corp.) lists iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Apple Vision, not Mac. The old Twitter listing in the Microsoft Store now returns a 'gone' error.

How to Install X (formerly Twitter) on PC
There is no official X (formerly Twitter) app to download for Windows or Mac. The web version below works on any computer, no emulator needed.
Method 1: X (formerly Twitter) on the web
- Open x.com in a recent version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge.
- Log in or sign up.
- Optional: turn on notifications under Settings, then Web notifications.
What about Android emulators?
An emulator is not needed. Everything most people do on X works on x.com in a normal browser, which is lighter and safer than running the Android app in an emulator.
