How it works

We use Mozilla's PDF.js library to read each page's text directly on your device, then build a real .docx file with Word headings, bold/italic formatting, and tables reconstructed from the layout — one Word page per PDF page. Scanned/image-only PDFs won't produce text since no OCR is performed.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I convert a PDF to Word without losing formatting?

PDF.js reads each page's text structure, reconstructing headings (H1/H2), bold, italic and tables into a .docx. Scanned PDFs (image-based) won't produce text as no OCR is performed.

Is this PDF to Word converter free and private?

Yes. The conversion runs entirely in your browser using Mozilla's PDF.js library. Your PDF is never sent to any server, making it completely private.

What is the maximum PDF size I can convert to Word?

Since conversion happens in your browser, the limit depends on your device's RAM. Files up to ~50MB convert reliably on most modern computers. Very large PDFs may be slow.

Why does my converted Word document look different from the PDF?

PDFs use absolute positioning for text, while Word uses flow-based layout. Complex multi-column layouts, special fonts and images may not convert perfectly. Plain text-heavy PDFs convert best.
