Download Mode (also called Odin Mode) is a special boot mode on Samsung devices used for flashing firmware using Odin.
What is Download Mode?
Download Mode is Samsung's proprietary boot mode that allows you to flash firmware, custom ROMs, and other modifications using the Odin tool on a PC.
How to Enter Download Mode
Devices with Home Button
- Power off the device
- Press and hold Volume Down + Home + Power
- Press Volume Up to continue when prompted
Devices without Home Button
- Power off the device
- Press and hold Volume Down + Bixby + Power
- For newer devices: Volume Up + Volume Down while connecting USB
- Press Volume Up to continue

- Flash stock firmware
- Install custom recovery
- Flash custom ROMs via Odin
- Unbrick devices
- Downgrade firmware

You'll see a warning about custom OS installation. Press Volume Up to continue or Volume Down to cancel.
