Sarahah got into a lot of controversies with the rise in its popularity. A woman signed a petition that the app is not safe for kids as her daughter was bullied by her friends through this app.

She said that one of her friends had asked her to kill herself and has sent several hate messages that affected her daughter’s mental health.

After this petition, several others joined it too. Thousands of people asked Google & Apple to ban this app from their stores as it can cause an increase in cyberbullying and even harassment.

The app became a major concern for parents. As the petition was signed by more people, the app was removed from the Play store & App store. However, the website of this app is still operating and can be used.

The app was banned from play store and app store but it can be installed and used without any problems.

Are the concerns for real:

In my opinion, a thing is not evil or bad in itself, its use makes it good or bad. The same implies here, the app’s purpose is really simple and a good one. Just to get some anonymous feedback from your friends and relatives.

There is nothing harmful in it, but some of the bad incidents and due to some people using the app for wrong purposes, the app got into trouble.

The developer said that the app has AI built in that can filter hate, violent or abusive messages. But the AI seems not to work every time so it is a hit and miss. So, you should not let your children use the app.

But it is not a major problem if the app is used by adults. I used this app and it was a fun to use this. But I recommend that you should not take the feedback so seriously that it affects your mind. Take this on a lighter note, only then you can enjoy this app.
