Funimate is a video making, editing and sharing app that lets you create really cool videos with effects and filters.

Nowadays, everybody wants to be Tiktok star. People are obsessed with it and want to be popular by making cool videos. To cope up with this craze, many apps are entering in the market to give a tough competition to TikTok.

Funimate is also such an app which gives you similar features with some additional bounties. The app is a little different because Tiktok is focused on video community and sharing, and does not offer basic video editing features.

The app also gives you basic video editing features with which you trim, crop or merge videos. Moreover, you can apply fun filters, transitions, stickers and effects to a video.

Let’s discuss the features briefly:

The app lets you create slow motion and fast motion videos which is great. Most video editing apps miss this tiny important feature.

The app also has an X slow feature that supports super slow motion videos. I have tried the slow motion, x slow and fast motion and I am quite impressed with its quality.

Most of the apps compromise on the quality while capturing slow motion or fast motion videos but this app does not compromise on this. In fact, it outputs a high quality slow motion and fast motion video.

You can also capture time-lapses with the app.

Add Sounds to Video:

You can add sounds and music to your videos just like you do with Tiktok. The sound can be picked from your local phone audios or you can pick a sound from the app’s library.

The app contains hundreds of music and sounds that are displayed categorically so that you can easily search for a sound.

A feature which is missing in Tiktok but is included in this app is that it can pick sound from your videos. I found this feature really helpful as it saves my effort and time when I want to add a music that is in video format in my phone.

With TikTok, I had to first change it to audio format with some third party app. So, the app has a plus here.

Use Effects & Filters:

The app contains some cool and exciting effects that you can add to your videos and make them amazing.

I have tried some of the free filters and effects and they were surprisingly good. The app impressed me here too. However, the free effects are a very few. For pro effects, you have to pay.

Add GIFs, Text & Stickers:

Another department in which this app is ahead of TikTok is the ability to add GIFs, text and stickers to your videos.

The text colors and effects are also cool and they are not very basic which is a good gesture. The GIFs are supported by Giphy which is a great library for GIFs. The stickers are also many in quantity.

Video Sharing Community:

Now, after you have created an exciting video, you can share and show it off to your friends and followers.

Your videos will be liked by your followers and other users on the app. You can get praised on the videos you have shared through the comments.

All in all, the app features a complete video sharing community that does not let you get bored.

Explore & Download Videos:

The videos that are trending are displayed to you on the homepage in the same manner as TikTok. You can swipe the screen to go on the next video.

You can also explore for videos shared by other users by using hashtags.

Moreover, you can download the videos shared by other users to your phone’s storage.

Privacy Controls:

As it is a video sharing app, you might have some privacy concerns. You may not want to share your video publically or don’t want it to get viral. The app gives you privacy controls where you can restrict your videos to be private.

The private videos are not shared anywhere. Only you can see them and can save them on their phone’s storage.

Conclusion:

The app has really cool features and it has great potential to be your first choice for video editing and sharing purposes.

But many filters and effects are only offered in Pro version. Which is the biggest drawback for me. They should make more filters to use for free.

The pro subscription costs you 720 PKR for a month. And 8000 PKR for a full year.

The charges are a bit on the high side in my opinion. The charges should not be more than 500 PKR for a month.

But the app is amazing in its features and I want it to be improved more by its developers. It can surely attract a large number of users.
