  1. These articles always miss the point. You can’t mix and match apps that require you to know the remote IP with those that don’t. Or apps that require the remote host to open certain ports in the router/firewall, with those that don’t.

In this article, the only alternatives to Teamviewer are LogMeIn and Join.me. The rest don’t even get close to replace any of these and will become a nightmare for any ordinary user.

    1. I completely agree with ‘sicofante’, and want to point out that the real alternatives to teamviewer are AnyDesk and Ammyy remote desktop. Both are great and comfortable similar to teamviewer.

      1. I also agree with sicofante… However, with regards to your recommendation for AnyDesk and Ammyy, they are useless for any serious IT person because they as yet don’t support Mac OS or Linux, only MS Windows. For me that’s a deal breaker! I have to use all three Systems. Team viewer so far is the best, but it’s ridiculously expensive for commercial use. I am still searching LOL

        1. I can recommend to you ImPcRemote. VNC oriented.
          Support Windows, MAC, Android.
          Web: http://remote-control-desktop.com/
          You can use
          1. ImPcRemote Manager for add and control your users
          2. ImPcRemote Instant for one time use (FREE)
          3. Yearly licence is really small
I use it over 3 years. Can be more stable but it is very useful

    2. Agreed. Some of the software mentioned is also for 1 time remote access situations, and others are for unattended remote access. UltraVnc requires that you open a port on the router, and software like LogMeIn punches through on it’s own. As an IT Company we use RemoteToPC https://remotetopc.com It’s cheaper than LogMeIn, and has remote mornitoring and alerts built in.
